TRANSCRIPT:

Did you know… picking your nose and eating your boogers is good for your teeth?!

BROADCAST DATE: 3rd November 2022

SHOW: #002

We love the serious stuff here on the Troy Murphy Show and we also like the strange.

Especially the strange from the scientific world Where studies suggest that primates, of which humans are, who pick their nose and eat their snot have fewer dental cavities.

Yes, you heard correct, picking your nose and eating your boogers is good for your teeth!

You can only imagine what your next trip to the dentist is going to be like now that this information is public “hmmm… i see you have a few cavities developing… you could brush your teeth… OR you pick your nose and eat it!”

The choice is yours.. the choice is yours…

Of course we here at TTMS don’t recommend you do that, because picking your nose can spread bacteria such as Staphylococcus, which was discovered in another scientific study.

Further to our story last week, you know the one about the guy who died after taking a shower for the first time in decades ( PLAY AUDIO )

Contrary to popular belief, bathing every day doesn’t improve your hygiene. Instead, it only helps reduce bad body odour. Professor Sally Bloomfield, of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, said the only reason people shower every day is to be “socially acceptable” by getting rid of bad body odours. Speaking with BBC Radio 5 Live Professor Bloomfield said: (AUDIO)

“we don’t need to bathe and shower every day. In fact, we don’t need to bath and shower at all,”

So, it turns out, gross human habits are good for you! Who knew that TTMS was educational!
